Annual Grad Fair Arrives!
On Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26 from 10am to 2pm the UConn Co-op will be hosting its annual Grad Fair. The Grad Fair is an opportunity for seniors to take care of all of their commencement needs in one stop!
If you are graduating in May, you don’t want to miss this year’s Grad Fair. While there you can get commencement tickets, your cap and gown, sit for your senior portrait, check out class of 09 clothing and class rings, enjoy time with your friends and more. The Grad Fair will take place in the Co-op, with exhibitors, vendors and items set up throughout the store. Below are a few highlights!
Caps, Gowns and Tassels – If you are graduating in May you can purchase your commencement regalia at the Grad Fair. You do not need to pre-order your regalia before the Fair. Staff will be available to help you with selecting the correct size and tassel.
Commencement Tickets – You can pick up your commencement tickets the day of the Grad Fair. To pick up your tickets, you will have to first purchase your cap and gown. Tickets will be given out with proof of your cap and gown purchase and a photo ID. The number of tickets you can receive will depend on the specific graduation ceremony in which you will participate. Specific information about the number of tickets you are eligible to receive is available on the Commencement Office’s Guest Ticket page and additional information about the various ceremonies is available on their May Commencement page.
Senior Portraits – If you haven’t yet sat for your senior portrait, the Grad Fair is a great opportunity to do so! The portrait photo area will be set up on the main sales floor of the Co-op. All graduating seniors receive a free Nutmeg Yearbook, so make sure that your picture is included!
Graduation Items – You will also have the opportunity to purchase items to help celebrate your commencement and your husky pride! Have you thought of getting a class ring? Jostens will be at the Grad Fair with a display of some of the ring options available to you. If you want to let friends and family members know about your upcoming graduation, you can purchase announcements. Once you receive your diploma you can display it with pride in an official UConn diploma frame. You can show your pride with some class of 09 clothing. All of these items and more will be on display!
In addition, representatives from several offices, including Senior Transition and Engagement Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and the UConn Alumni Association will be there to answer questions about your approaching graduation, and the resources that are available to you as a UConn alum.
There will also be giveaways and snacks available for seniors. The Grad Fair is your one-stop-shop for all your commencement needs. Come by and join the fun!
