What do I do after graduation? How can I best find a job? How do can I practice interviewing? Do you have a career question that you’d like to have answered? Use this address, askacareercounselor@uconn.edu, and a UConn career counselor will answer your question within 24 hours, Monday through Friday.
Need that extra boost of confidence?
Take advantage of the Mock Interview Program! Career Services offers undergraduate and graduate students interviewing practice for internships, co-ops, full-time or part-time positions, and graduate schools. Students also receive helpful feedback and advice on how to approach and effectively answer routine and tough interview questions.
Students are interviewed by a trained member of the Mock Interview Team to help better prepare for professional interviews. The program promotes awareness of the latest style of interviewing and offers honest and beneficial tips to participants. Students are able to walk away with a greater understanding of the interview process, methods for successfully answering questions, and tips to help ease nerves. Call 486-3013 or stop by Career Services to schedule a session.
HuskyCareerLink
HuskyCareerLink is a Career Services resource that allows students to view opportunities for jobs, internships, and co-ops as well as conduct research on employers and find out when they are coming to campus. There are currently over 4,500 registered employers with 5,500 contacts as well as over 390 active job postings on HuskyCareerLink. The system can be accessed through Career Services website at career.uconn.edu using the student’s NetID and password. HuskyCareerLink also features résumé books where students can upload résumés to be viewed by employers even if they have not actively applied for any available opportunities. Along with résumé books and job opportunities, students can view a calendar of events with details of employer information sessions, On Campus Interviewing, as well as Career Services events and workshops. Information is available on the Career Services Job Searching page. Any questions or concerns with HuskyCareerLink can be addressed to recruiting@uconn.edu.
On Campus Interviewing (OCI):
Selected students can participate in On Campus Interviews with employers who post job opportunities through HuskyCareerLink. Once a student submits a résumé through HuskyCareerLink, employers make pre-selections and invite those students to interview on campus. If students are pre-selected for an interview, they are notified, and the student can sign up for a time slot on the day the employer will be on campus. All interviews take place in the interview suite in room 220 in the CUE building.
